With roots from Finland, since 2008, Slush has provided the ground for global human resources and business models in Finland, which then eventually developed into an international movement which reached major cities in Asia, namely, Tokyo, Singapore and Shanghai. In 2015, Antti Sonninen, who co-founder of Slush Tokyo (formerly known as Slush Asia), expressed his dream of wanting to create a community where international and open-minded young individuals can be free to reach for their goals and be their own stars. Having the same beliefs, for Startups immediately agreed with his vision. They worked on providing a platform that supports business growth in different industries with their goal to support the Japanese economy by providing the best industries, companies, services, human resources, and so on. They recognized the necessity of the startup ecosystem. From then on, for Startups has been supporting Slush Tokyo as not only as a partner but also as a great supporter. In the first ever Slush event in Japan in 2015, for Startups supported the founding team of Slush Tokyo (formerly Slush Asia) including Taizo Son (CEO of Mistletoe Inc.) in the overall event planning and operation. They worked together with the Slush Helsinki team and managed to realize the event in a surprising period of 4 months. 3000 people from 37 countries were gathered together in 5 temporary tents (just built on the day itself) called the “White Rock” in Aomi, Tokyo.
